Claims Associate

Role overview

This position is focused on managing merchandise claims, securing vendor credits, and keeping inventory accurate by following company handling standards. The role also involves delivering strong service to vendor partners, store associates, and customers while working on the sales floor.

Key duties

• Support shrink control by promptly processing damaged or stolen items through the scanning process.
• Keep returns, vendor return requests, recalls, documentation, packing, and shipping tasks current and completed within company timelines.
• Manage SORT and Global Donation merchandise as part of the claims workflow.
• Follow safety expectations at all times, including correct chemical disposal, maintaining a clean and hazard-free claims area, safe ladder use, and proper lifting methods.
• Track merchandise moving through claims to protect store assets, reduce chargebacks, and monitor returns and shrink wins.
• Stay informed about company policies, procedures, and guidelines for damaged and recalled products, and ensure new store programs and systems are consistently used.
• Follow the Return Manual closely, keep claims work current, limit chargebacks, and complete Vendor Return Request forms for claims older than 45 days.
• Complete GM CVP work as required.
• Assist the Office Support Associate and Direct Store Delivery Associate whenever needed.

Pay

The minimum hourly pay for this role begins at $16.85.
