Accountant

Role overview

This Accountant position in Dubai is with a recruitment and business consulting organization and is focused on managing day-to-day accounting work, financial statements, and regulatory compliance. What you will handle

• Keep accounting records accurate and well organized, including all supporting documents.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
• Review and prepare vendor payments, invoices, and reconciliation statements.
• Complete reconciliations for banks, suppliers, and the general ledger.
• Support monthly and annual closing tasks.
• Post journal entries, accruals, and necessary accounting adjustments.
• Contribute to financial reporting and management reporting deliverables.
• Work in line with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
• Prepare UAE VAT returns and retain the backup documentation required for compliance.
• Work with auditors and share the schedules and reports they request.
• Track cash movement and assist with budgeting and forecasting exercises.
• Maintain vendor master records and assist with accounting tasks tied to procurement.

Required background

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 3 years of accounting experience. Experience in accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial reporting is expected. The role also requires familiarity with UAE VAT rules, IFRS, and financial reporting standards. Candidates should have worked in a B2B environment, preferably for a multinational company, and be comfortable using ERP platforms such as SAP along with advanced Microsoft Excel.

Additional expectations

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities are important, along with the capacity to work independently and deliver within deadlines. Candidates must also be available for face-to-face interviews in Dubai.
