Job summary

This role is focused on packing and final handling tasks within a manufacturing setting. The position requires close attention to work order instructions, accurate labeling, quality verification, and proper completion of sign-off and end-of-run documentation.

Key duties

• Check the work order carefully and follow any special instructions.
• Make sure the workstation setup, tags, and labels match the requirements for the job.
• Finish the sign-off checklist and secure the required approval signature.
• Inspect parts for compliance using tools such as punch boxes or templates.
• Look over finished pieces for flaws like chipped edges or marred surfaces.
• Confirm the correct quantity and labeling of finished material.
• Clean the machine and work area once the task is completed.
• Complete the end-of-run checklist and obtain the necessary signature.
• Return unused materials and submit all related paperwork, including sign-offs, progress reports, and spec cards, to material handling.
• Support other material handling duties when needed, including shipping, receiving, and inventory setup, as applicable.
• Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Education

A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.

Physical requirements

This is a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to production areas. Protective gear such as gloves may be required according to company policy. The job may involve standing or sitting for long periods, using hands with tools and machinery, and lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds.
