About the Company
Quest Global is an engineering-focused organization that aims to solve complex problems through deep technical knowledge and digital capability. With more than 25 years of experience, the company operates across 17 countries and supports major engineering challenges through a network of 67 delivery centers and offices. Its work spans aerospace and defense, automotive, energy, hi-tech, med-tech and healthcare, rail, semiconductor, and communications.
Role Summary
This position calls for a seasoned corrosion and materials engineer to support oil and gas projects across both offshore and onshore environments. The work centers on corrosion management, integrity assurance, risk-based inspection, chemical injection planning, damage mechanism analysis, and life extension support for fixed equipment. The role also involves close coordination with remote teams to improve corrosion and inspection practices, perform fitness-for-service reviews, and contribute to extension-of-life studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide corrosion control and mitigation practices while helping deliver integrity programs for offshore and onshore gas assets on schedule.
- Investigate corrosion-related concerns, trace underlying causes, and put preventive measures in place.
- Develop and support systemization efforts, corrosion loops, and piping circuit structures.
- Apply strong knowledge of damage mechanisms affecting refinery and petrochemical equipment.
- Carry out corrosion reviews, assign damage mechanisms under API 571, estimate corrosion rates, and support integrity operating window work under API 584.
- Gather and review operating, design, and corrosion information for RBI and mechanical integrity management.
- Work with relevant teams to maintain accurate damage mechanism data using inspection records and corrosion monitoring inputs.
- Recommend corrosion mitigation methods based on fluid chemistry, inhibitor selection, metallurgy, operating conditions, and degradation behavior.
- Review and audit corrosion management approaches, including coordination with vendors to improve injection and monitoring programs.
- Assess, evaluate, and help introduce new technologies that strengthen corrosion control and integrity management.
- Prepare and manage both short-term and long-term corrosion mitigation contracts.
- Track chemical treatment performance and recommend cost-efficient improvements.
- Contribute to RCFA activities, incident reviews, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, and risk assessments.
- Develop technical recommendations and follow through on implementation until completion.
- Apply recognized onshore and offshore corrosion practices to support safe and reliable operations.
- Collaborate across disciplines, provide technical guidance, and mentor developing engineers.
- Support recruitment, training, and competency development for corrosion engineering resources.
Requirements
- An engineering degree in Metallurgy, Chemical, or Petrochemical Engineering.
- At least 15 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, including onshore, offshore, pipeline projects, or design work.
- Refining and petrochemical exposure is considered an advantage.
- Practical knowledge of upstream and downstream oil and gas operations.
- Hands-on experience with RBI methodologies and chemical injection programs.
- Ability to assess damage mechanisms and support engineering evaluations.
- Experience in inspection planning, procedures, and optimization for fixed equipment.
- Knowledge of fitness-for-service assessments and life extension studies related to corrosion damage.
- Exposure to repair scope preparation.
- Working familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including API, ASME, and NACE documents.
- Experience using software such as Pestra, Credo, and Meridium.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Good command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of corrective and preventive maintenance approaches.
Additional Information
This role is based in Bengaluru, India. The work is intended for an experienced professional who can contribute both technically and across teams in a leadership-capable capacity.
