Sanmina is a global manufacturing organization that develops, assembles, and repairs advanced optical, electronic, and mechanical products. It is known for delivering end-to-end design, manufacturing, and logistics services to OEM customers across industrial, medical, defense and aerospace, automotive, communications networks, and cloud solution sectors.
Founded in Silicon Valley in 1980, Sanmina is headquartered in San Jose, California. Jure Sola serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. The company reported revenue of $1.98B for fiscal year 2025, is listed on NASDAQ under the ticker SANM, operates in 20 countries across 6 continents, and employs approximately 35,000 people worldwide. It is also a Fortune 500 company.
Role Overview
This position involves leading PCB layout development for complex, high-speed, multi-layer boards in a fast-paced product environment. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Cadence Allegro, awareness of manufacturing best practices, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with signal integrity and power integrity teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply broad PCB layout engineering knowledge along with manufacturing process understanding and IPC standards.
- Ensure designs follow DFM, DFA, and DFT practices and prepare release files for PCB fabrication and assembly.
- Work on high-speed board designs and help team members build capability aligned to Sanmina design standards.
- Collaborate closely with SI and PI teams during the design cycle.
- Account for EMI/EMC, thermal, and mechanical performance while developing layouts.
- Create complex multi-layer PCB boards using Cadence Allegro.
- Handle assignments independently with strong technical ownership.
- Support team coordination and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Contribute to skill development, design automation, and EDA tool automation where applicable.
- Maintain and manage library databases as needed.
- Work through an Agile-based release process.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have a background in electronics or allied branches and solid experience in PCB layout development for server, storage, or similar high-speed hardware platforms. Experience with Intel and AMD motherboard designs, x86 computing platforms, and high-end processor-based boards is important.
The role also expects strong knowledge of DDRx memory interfaces, Ethernet interfaces, high-speed digital design, analog circuits, and power supply design. Familiarity with signal integrity concepts, manufacturing assembly flows, and design-to-production execution is highly valued.
Strong skills in Cadence Allegro are essential, while experience with Mentor Graphics, Altium, Valor, or CAM350 will be an advantage. The candidate should also be comfortable with office tools, basic project management practices, and clear written and verbal communication.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold a B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, or Electronics.
Experience
A total of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in PCB layout development for server, storage PCBAs, or related domains is preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Experience in Intel-based designs, including Sandy Bridge and server platform work, is preferred.
- Knowledge of DFx practices and related implementation methods is preferred.
- Exposure to EDA tool automation and library database management is preferred.
- The candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and able to prioritize and multitask in a high-pressure environment.
- Self-discipline, strong productivity, and the ability to work well within a team are required.
