Senior Design Manager

Role Overview

Skilled Careers is hiring an experienced Senior Project Manager for a leading international main contractor working on a major 40MW data centre development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a high-profile assignment, and the ideal candidate will have a strong history of delivering large-scale data centre schemes all the way from initial setup to final handover within a main contracting environment.

Candidate Profile

The role calls for a degree-qualified construction professional with a solid record of delivery on hyperscale or large-scale data centre projects. Applicants should have completed at least one data centre project end-to-end and bring substantial experience from recognised main contractors. The position also requires the ability to manage multidisciplinary project teams, communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, and maintain tight control over programme, cost, quality, and health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the full delivery of a 40MW data centre project, from mobilisation through commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate and direct project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers so delivery targets are met.
• Keep the build safe, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with the required quality standards.
• Create and put into action delivery strategies and project execution plans.
• Track construction progress and address risks early to protect key milestones.
• Liaise with client representatives and other important stakeholders across the project lifecycle.
• Support strong commercial outcomes while ensuring contractual commitments are managed properly.
• Lead testing, commissioning, and final project handover activities.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and performance oversight to the delivery team.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience delivering hyperscale or similarly large data centre projects.
• At least one full data centre project delivered from start to finish.
• Background working with well-known main contractors.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary construction teams on complex projects.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Good command of project controls, scheduling, cost management, quality assurance, and HSE expectations.
