Role overview
AMPR is seeking a Senior Creative Manager - Content for a full-time maternity leave cover position based in Melbourne. The role sits at the intersection of creative direction, content planning and brand storytelling across AMPR and Created by AMPR.
This opportunity suits someone who can shift easily between high-level strategic thinking and practical delivery. The right person will know how to create social content that captures attention, develop campaign narratives, turn client ideas into compelling multi-channel content and guide a creative team while protecting the quality and originality of the work.
You will work across fashion, beauty, retail, lifestyle, wellness, consumer and major event brands, helping create content that is strategically sound, culturally relevant, polished in execution and commercially effective.

What the role involves
As Senior Creative Manager - Content, you will lead the creative and content function across both client work and AMPR’s own brand presence. Your work will include shaping content strategy, guiding creative output, managing workflows, supporting client relationships, mentoring talent and helping position the agency as a strong voice across social, digital, earned and owned channels.
Core focus areas
Creative direction: Set the creative standard and vision for content across campaigns, social media, video, EDMs, websites, presentations, client storytelling and agency brand projects.
Content strategy: Build content plans that are shaped by audience needs, platform requirements and client goals, while supporting brand positioning and business outcomes.
Client partnership: Work as a senior strategic partner to clients, helping build trust, steer creative conversations and transform ideas into effective content.
Team leadership: Guide, mentor and manage creative outputs across the team, with a focus on collaboration, quality control, workflow efficiency and professional development.
Agency brand ownership: Lead the direction and delivery of AMPR and Created by AMPR content across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, websites and EDMs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and roll out integrated content strategies across social, earned and owned channels.
- Manage creative production from concept stage through to final delivery, including written, visual, video and social-first assets.
- Shape the creative direction for AMPR and Created by AMPR brand channels.
- Run content WIPs, prioritise tasks, oversee calendars and keep work moving on schedule.
- Collaborate with client service teams to ensure content supports campaign strategy, brand voice and audience needs.
- Provide direction, feedback and quality assurance for internal team members, freelancers and external contributors.
- Oversee agency content such as presentations, website updates, credentials, case studies, social posts and EDMs.
- Track, interpret and report on content performance, then turn findings into practical recommendations.
- Stay informed about trends, platform updates, creator culture, social behaviour and digital innovation.
- Support business growth through creative ideas, proposal input and content-led opportunities.
- Coach and develop team members in content, social, digital and creative best practice.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in communications, content, social media, creative or marketing, ideally in an agency setting.
- Strong background in content production, including social-first creative, video, campaign content and digital storytelling.
- Ability to lead content strategies across social, owned, earned and digital channels.
- Experience working directly with clients and converting business goals into clear creative direction.
- Prior experience in people management, mentoring or team leadership.
- Good understanding of how PR, social, influencer, content and digital channels work together.
- Strong visual judgement and a sharp sense of brand, design, tone, culture and audience behaviour.
- Excellent writing, communication, briefing and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfort using Canva, Adobe Suite, Google Analytics, WordPress, Frame.io, social scheduling tools and reporting platforms.
- Working knowledge of video editing tools such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut, along with post-production workflows.
- Ability to communicate clearly, give feedback and manage projects across creative teams and stakeholders.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to balance creativity and commercial outcomes.
- Strong organisation skills, calm decision-making and the ability to manage several projects at once.
