About the school

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar, is a premium International Baccalaureate world school delivering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). Nord Anglia Education is seeking a compassionate and dependable School Nurse to support the health, wellbeing and medical care of students, while helping maintain a safe, caring and healthy school setting.

Key duties

• Oversee the daily running of the school medical room and keep it safe, organised, fully stocked and ready for use.
• Deliver timely and professional first aid and nursing support to students and staff who become unwell or are injured during the school day.
• Evaluate student health concerns, monitor conditions, and arrange referrals to outside medical professionals or emergency services when needed.
• Give prescribed medicines in line with individual healthcare plans, school procedures and Qatar regulatory standards.
• Keep detailed and confidential health records and healthcare plans for students, including support for allergies and long-term conditions.
• Contribute as part of the safeguarding team by helping identify and report concerns related to student welfare.
• Create and run health education and wellbeing activities for students across all year groups.
• Work closely with parents, school staff and external healthcare providers in a clear, professional and proactive manner regarding student health matters.

Candidate profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) status with current, valid registration from the NMC or an equivalent regulatory authority.
• Paediatric nursing qualification or strong hands-on paediatric nursing experience.
• Valid Paediatric First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) / AED certification.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience after registration, preferably gained in a paediatric or school environment.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection expectations in an international school setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact sensitively with students, parents and colleagues from varied backgrounds.
• Excellent spoken and written English; Arabic language ability is an advantage.
• Prior experience in Qatar or the Middle East, along with familiarity with Qatar Ministry of Health regulations, is desirable.
