Role Overview
The Quality Control Analyst III is responsible for advanced chromatographic and wet chemistry testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples, along with the preparation and maintenance of the required GMP records and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine chromatographic testing, mainly HPLC and also GC, as well as wet chemistry analysis on raw materials, in-process samples, finished goods, and stability samples, while following GLP and cGMP requirements.
- Support the implementation and troubleshooting of analytical method transfers into the QC laboratory when needed.
- Lead or assist laboratory investigations, ensuring issues are documented, tracked, and resolved promptly; escalate out-of-specification results and initiate FARs within the required timeframe where applicable.
- Provide training support to other QC analysts in chromatography and wet chemistry techniques.
- Evaluate and approve chromatographic and non-chromatographic data.
- Act as a technical expert during third-party inspections when required.
- Contribute to laboratory improvement initiatives such as 6S and lean projects.
- Handle QC SOPs, change controls, deviations, and IRFs.
- Carry out calibration and maintenance tasks for wet chemistry and chromatography equipment.
- Take part in departmental projects assigned by the QC Team Leader or QC Manager.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, in a science-related field such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Analytical Science.
- At least 5 years of relevant industrial experience.
- Hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, and peptide analysis, including method validation and transfer; experience using Empower is essential.
- Strong understanding of chemistry and biochemistry techniques, especially chromatographic, wet chemistry, and peptide analysis methods.
- Well-developed technical writing skills.
- Working knowledge of Empower and other laboratory systems.
- Familiarity with cGMP environments and requirements.
- Good computer skills, including MS Office, TrackWise, Minitab, and LIMS.
- College-level mathematics ability.
- Ability to solve routine issues using established procedures and practical solutions, with limited need for judgment.
