Overview
An established and expanding organisation in the power transmission and distribution sector is looking for a Project Scheduler to join its Perth-based team on a permanent basis.
This role is suited to someone with strong hands-on experience in planning, developing, and managing schedules for large-scale projects.
Core responsibilities
- Create, structure, and maintain detailed project schedules using appropriate scheduling tools.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to collect project inputs and convert them into complete schedules.
- Make sure timelines are practical, attainable, and aligned with project objectives and delivery dates.
- Keep schedules current by reflecting project progress, status changes, and any new developments.
- Track timelines closely, spot risks of delay, and recommend corrective measures before issues escalate.
- Keep clear records of every schedule revision and ensure all relevant parties are kept updated.
- Produce and deliver schedule reports such as progress summaries, critical path reviews, and forward-looking forecasts.
- Run regular schedule review discussions with project teams and stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly and concisely so everyone understands the schedule position and any effects on delivery milestones.
- Identify scheduling risks and put mitigation actions in place to reduce impact on timelines.
- Coordinate with project teams to foresee and resolve clashes in scheduling.
- Look for ongoing improvements in scheduling methods, systems, and tools.
Required experience and skills
- Demonstrated background in building and managing project schedules with MS Project and Primavera P6.
- Experience handling schedule creation and control throughout the full lifecycle of major projects.
- Strong grasp of scheduling methods, principles, and best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with teams made up of different disciplines and stakeholders.
- Comfort working under pressure while juggling several tasks at once.
- Self-driven, proactive, and strongly focused on meeting deadlines.
Qualifications
No formal qualification is mandatory for this position, although training or certifications relevant to the industry would be an advantage.
