Project Engineer

Role overview

ConsultANZ is hiring a Project Engineer in Auckland for a water infrastructure assignment. The position focuses on delivering site-based project support across a major civil works environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily site operations so work progresses smoothly.
• Support project scheduling, sequencing, and allocation of labour, plant, and materials.
• Track progress against programme milestones and help keep the job on schedule.
• Supervise subcontractor performance and check that workmanship meets required standards.
• Maintain cost records, handle variation tracking, and prepare project reporting.
• Promote and enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental obligations.
• Work closely with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to keep communication clear.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience as a Civil Engineer, with strong exposure to water infrastructure work.
• Hands-on background in water, wastewater, or stormwater projects.
• Working knowledge of project planning software such as MS Project, along with cost control and tracking.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
• Comfortable working independently while also contributing within a team setting.
