Role Overview
Adaptive is looking for its second product designer to help shape the next stage of the product. The role focuses on creating thoughtful, user-centered experiences for small-business builders across the U.S.
Reporting to the Lead Designer, you will work closely with a Product Manager and engineering partners to design and deliver major product features, including AI agents that automate back-office construction work. You will help define product experiences, strengthen the design system, and conduct research to confirm that the team is solving the right problems.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of product features from early concept through final release, working closely with product and engineering teams.
- Plan and participate in user research and usability testing to check assumptions and improve the product experience.
- Help build, maintain, and improve the design system so the platform stays coherent and can scale effectively.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to balance user needs, business priorities, and the overall product direction.
Experience & Skills
- 3 to 5 years of experience in product design, preferably within a SaaS company or startup.
- Strong command of UX/UI design, user research methods, and design systems.
- Proven ability to manage projects independently from idea stage to delivery.
- Clear communication and strong storytelling ability, with comfort collaborating across product and engineering functions.
- Ability to adapt quickly in changing processes and to design for an AI-native product environment.

Work Location & Schedule
This is an in-office role based in Union Square, New York. The schedule requires working Monday through Thursday from the office.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000 per year.
