The company is hiring a Procurement Manager to oversee everyday business spending, protect commercial value, and ensure suppliers and contracts are managed to a high standard. This role acts as the main procurement contact for the business, handling stakeholder coordination, contract negotiations, supplier evaluations, and purchasing activity. It calls for strong commercial judgment, solid negotiation ability, and a practical approach to finding savings and controlling risk in a fast-moving environment.
The position also carries responsibility for making sure procurement practices follow company policy, relevant laws and regulations, and ethical sourcing expectations. The Procurement Manager will play a central role in risk control, supplier integrity, and audit preparedness across the procurement function.
Working with teams across the business, the role ensures procurement steps run smoothly from purchase order creation through invoice matching, while keeping a reliable contract database that supports planning and helps prevent service interruptions.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the main business contact for routine operational spending.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across departments.
- Manage contract renewals on schedule and secure commercially beneficial terms.
- Carry out supplier reviews to measure performance against agreed KPIs and encourage ongoing improvements.
- Keep the contract repository up to date to support financial planning and reduce disruption risk.
- Work with internal teams to uncover cost-saving opportunities.
- Spot and manage procurement-related and supplier-related risks.
- Strengthen supplier partnerships where beneficial.
- Research the market regularly to support the best choice of products and pricing.
- Coordinate with departments to ensure purchase orders are raised in a timely way.
- Support invoice processing so billing matches agreed contractual terms.
- Ensure all procurement work follows company policy, applicable regulations, and ethical sourcing requirements.
- Perform supplier due diligence before award, including checks on conflicts of interest, financial health, and regulatory status.
- Maintain complete and accurate compliance records for internal and external audits.
- Include data protection, confidentiality, and anti-bribery/anti-corruption protections in supplier agreements.
- Escalate any compliance issues or supplier failures to Legal and/or Compliance promptly.
Required qualifications and experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build constructive supplier relationships.
- Clear commercial awareness and a good understanding of business operations.
- Proven experience managing substantial spending effectively.
- Background in contract management and supplier relationship management.
- Ability to prioritize work and balance competing stakeholder needs.
- Experience with procurement software and purchasing systems is preferred.
- CIPS certification or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiation, and purchasing operations.
- Working knowledge of procurement-related regulatory requirements, including anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws and relevant industry regulations.
- Experience supporting internal or external audit and compliance reviews.
