Process Engineer

Role overview

An opportunity is available for a Process Engineer in Carlow with a manufacturing employer. This is a permanent, hands-on position based onsite and centered on improving operations through better processes, Lean methods, and automation. The role also offers collaboration with UK locations and exposure to international engineering practices and projects.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen manufacturing performance by improving efficiency, product quality, and overall productivity.
• Drive Lean initiatives aimed at reducing waste and refining process flow.
• Spot opportunities for automation and put practical automation solutions into action across production.
• Examine operational problems and introduce effective corrective measures.
• Work in partnership with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and EHS teams to support ongoing improvement efforts.

Requirements

• A degree in Engineering is required.
• You should bring at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
• Experience in FMCG, food, packaging, high-volume, or industrial manufacturing environments is important.
• Strong practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving is needed.
• You should be familiar with process mapping, SOP development, and root cause analysis, with evidence of delivering measurable operational gains.
