About the role

Join a global automation and digitalization business in Doha as a Process Automation Engineering Intern. The role is designed for a recent engineering graduate who is eager to learn, contribute to real projects, and support customers and internal teams in process automation work.

The position is focused on helping deliver efficient project outcomes, supporting software and hardware activities, and contributing to a workplace that values learning, diversity, and inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside project managers and lead automation engineers to assist customers, both internally and externally, and to help with back-office activities when needed.
• Prepare and support project documentation such as IO lists, BOM, FDS, control philosophy documents, method statements, and similar deliverables, ensuring they are accurate, clear, and completed on time.
• Use automation tools to develop PLC logic, test programs with automation equipment, and assist with software testing, hardware testing, quality assurance, and as-built support.
• Investigate and help resolve issues or faults in the system.
• Support the installation of PLC programs and provide guidance to technicians during implementation.
• Participate in customer workshops, meetings, events, and presentations whenever required.

Requirements

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Industrial, Automation Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Basic understanding of PLC programming methods such as ladder logic and sequential function charts.
• Prior exposure to Siemens products is an advantage, including Siemens PLC software and hardware engineering tools such as CAD/EPLAN.
• Ability to take initiative and work without close supervision.
• Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
• Capable of solving complex issues with guidance.
• Willingness and ability to learn quickly on your own.
• Adaptable to multicultural work environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good planning, organization, and time management abilities.
