Role Overview
This opening is with a founder-led private investment firm focused on acquiring, running, and scaling mission-critical aerospace and defense businesses. The platform is built by aerospace and defense operators rather than generalist investors, with an industrial approach centered on supply chain strength and manufacturing resilience.
The firm’s target companies include founder-owned businesses going through ownership changes, non-core business units inside larger corporations, and manufacturers that are strategically important but need capital, stronger leadership, or operational support.
This position offers an early opportunity to join a newly launched, well-funded platform with a focused industrial strategy and hands-on operating experience in aerospace and defense manufacturing.
What You Will Do
- Help identify and assess potential acquisitions across aerospace, defense, and essential manufacturing businesses.
- Create and update financial models, valuation work, and transaction materials.
- Carry out market research, competitor comparisons, and operational due diligence.
- Support deal execution from the first review stage through closing.
- Contribute to portfolio company work related to supply chain resilience, manufacturing scale, and operating performance.
- Prepare materials for Investment Committee reviews and for founder and seller transition discussions.
Candidate Profile
- 1 to 3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or a similar analytical role.
- Strong capability in financial modeling and quantitative analysis.
- Interest in aerospace, defense, or industrial manufacturing is important.
- Comfort working in a lean, fast-paced, founder-led setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is a ground-floor role at a firm created by operators, so the work is tied to real industrial outcomes such as capacity, quality, and on-time delivery rather than financial engineering alone. It is a strong fit for someone who wants to learn how mission-critical manufacturing businesses actually operate.
