About the Company
Alex Fraser is a major Australian producer of recycled construction materials and a leading asphalt manufacturing and paving business. The company turns construction rubble into high-quality civil materials, helping recover valuable resources and reduce the environmental impact of large projects.
Role Overview
An opening is available for a Picker Labourer at the Nudgee Recycling Facility in Queensland. The role is suited to someone who can work early starts and may be needed on weekends when required.
Working Hours
Standard hours run from 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Saturday work, when required, is from 7:00am to 12:00 noon.
Key Duties
- Support a small crew at a concrete recycling plant in Nudgee.
- Work beside a moving conveyor system from within a small hut, selecting material as required.
- Carry out basic plant upkeep such as greasing rollers, replacing screens, and general cleaning duties using shovels and brooms.
- Take part in daily toolbox meetings.
Candidate Profile
- Must be physically capable of handling active manual work.
- Good mechanical aptitude and fast hand-eye coordination are important.
- Willingness to wear full safety gear throughout the shift, including a hard hat, respirator, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and long-sleeved high-visibility clothing.
- Expected to maintain strong standards for safety, productivity, and efficiency.
- Must have dependable personal transport.
- Best suited to someone seeking a stable, long-term role.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range is $25.68 to $29.25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, with penalty rates and superannuation in addition. Uniforms and PPE are supplied, and there are opportunities to build skills and develop further.
