About the Role

This position sits at the center of HumanSignal’s delivery operations and is responsible for making sure clients receive high-quality data on schedule. The work covers challenging, multimodal data collection and annotation programs that support frontier AI research, often across remote and on-site expert workforces spanning many domains, languages, and countries.

You will manage high-stakes programs from start to finish, balancing quality, deadlines, changing customer needs, and contributor performance. The environment is demanding, fast-moving, and built for people who enjoy solving problems without a fixed playbook, continuously improving systems, and taking ownership of outcomes.

Level: Individual Contributor

Compensation: $70,000 to $90,000

Location: San Francisco, CA

Key Responsibilities

Develop and run core operational workflows that keep customer delivery commitments on track each day.
Oversee daily activity across several Fellow or contributor programs, including onboarding, workflow coordination, and overall program stability.
Keep trackers and documentation current so the team can execute consistently and close out actions reliably.
Track contributor engagement and surface retention or performance concerns early enough to prevent delivery disruptions.
Build strong feedback channels between operations, product, strategy, and customer stakeholders.
Spot repeated workflow issues, propose process enhancements, and test new ideas through pilots and experiments.
Partner with SPLs, TPMs, Customer Operations, and Product teams to refine processes for both new and existing customers.

Required Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience in an operations-focused role or with a top-tier consulting firm.
An undergraduate degree in an analytics-oriented field such as Engineering, Economics, or a similar discipline.
A bias toward action, combining practical problem-solving with hands-on execution.
Strong capability in analysis and process improvement.
Comfort working with SQL or other analytical tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Background in marketplace, logistics, or workforce platform operations.
Experience using tools such as Zendesk, Notion, or Airtable.
Exposure to AI/ML workflows, data annotation, or contributor management.
Entrepreneurial thinking and comfort operating in fast-changing, ambiguous settings.

Work Style

The role is intentionally intense and suited to people who enjoy high accountability. You will often handle multiple programs at once, make decisions with incomplete information, and stay responsible for both contributor performance and customer delivery. The expectation is to own results end-to-end, with no excuses.
