Mechanical Engineer

Role Overview

Awtad is seeking a committed Mechanical Engineer to become part of its engineering team in Riyadh. In this position, you will contribute to the design, development, installation, and upkeep of mechanical systems across projects. The role calls for a solid grasp of mechanical engineering fundamentals, strong troubleshooting ability, and the confidence to work with colleagues from multiple disciplines to deliver reliable and efficient mechanical solutions.

What You Will Do

• Support the preparation and review of mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Observe site-based mechanical work and verify that it matches approved specifications.
• Take part in inspecting and testing mechanical equipment and systems.
• Create regular technical updates covering progress, site findings, and engineering notes.
• Work with other engineering teams to help deliver projects on schedule.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and review the materials and equipment needed for project execution.
• Help carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical systems and machinery.
• Follow quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements throughout project activities.
• Participate in identifying technical issues and suggesting practical improvements.
• Use engineering software to produce designs, calculations, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to confirm that approved specifications are being followed.
• Handle other engineering tasks assigned by the line manager.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Applicants should be fresh graduates or have up to 1 year of relevant experience.
• Valid membership with the Saudi Council of Engineers, or eligibility to register, is needed.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office is expected.
• Experience with AutoCAD and similar engineering tools is an advantage.
• Good teamwork and communication skills are important.
