Role overview
AMETEK is hiring a Material Handler II to support the movement, storage, and issuing of materials used in production. This role involves a mix of hands-on material handling and basic clerical tasks, with responsibility for shifting products between production areas and keeping materials organized and available for operations.
What you will do
- Work independently using established procedures and standard operating methods.
- Set up and run a Value Stream workstation when required.
- Issue, transport, and distribute materials needed for manufacturing operations.
- Place items into bins, racks, or shelving based on identification and storage instructions.
- Use material handling equipment such as powered industrial trucks and pallet jacks, once trained, to support storage and movement activities.
- Handle routine issues on your own and escalate more complicated problems to senior team members.
- Maintain high-quality execution with very few or no defects in standard work.
- Meet productivity and efficiency targets across assigned tasks.
- Identify and solve straightforward problems in routine work, with help on more complex situations.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Requirements for consideration
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Between 3 and 5 years of experience in receiving and shipping.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, stooping, kneeling, and walking.
- Comfort with occasional prolonged standing.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Good vision, including close vision, color recognition, and depth perception.
- Frequent standing, lifting, and walking as part of the job.
- Work is largely performed at a workstation or workbench.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Windows.
- Basic arithmetic ability and familiarity with simple measuring tools such as rulers, scales, calipers, and tape measures.
