Role overview

Papaya is a marketing agency working with some of Australia’s most in-demand brands in food, travel, and health. The team is energetic and award-winning, and is seeking a Marketing Manager with solid experience across social media, digital marketing delivery, and broader marketing activity. This position is a maternity leave cover assignment for 10 months, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent for the right person.

The role suits someone who performs well in a fast-moving environment, brings strong digital expertise, pays close attention to detail, and is comfortable working independently while guiding a small team.

What the role involves

You will oversee and execute marketing campaigns for a range of food, hospitality, and health clients. The position combines planning, client leadership, and hands-on delivery, so you should be confident managing multiple complex projects from start to finish.

• Take ownership of day-to-day client account management across integrated marketing programs
• Supervise a social media team consisting of two direct reports
• Develop and sustain strong working relationships with clients
• Handle budgets, schedules, reporting, and project delivery for client work
• Coordinate events, masterclasses, and brand activations
• Manage additional marketing tasks such as WhatsApp channels, website updates, and email marketing campaigns
• Direct photoshoots and content production activities

Ideal background

You should bring at least 4 years of experience in digital marketing or communications, preferably within an agency setting. The role calls for excellent organisation, the ability to juggle multiple priorities across different clients, and the confidence to work autonomously.

Additional information

This role is based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is a contract position and is intended to be worked onsite with a hybrid arrangement of three days in the office and two days working from home.
