Role Overview

As Manager (m/f/x) Business Development, you will lead sales efforts for clinical and development opportunities. The position centers on identifying and executing new sales approaches while building strong strategic connections with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify prospective customers, run cold outreach campaigns, and work with the Business Development Executive team to design outbound prospecting processes.
  • Coordinate, guide, and oversee sales and business activities for assigned accounts together with management.
  • Handle contract discussions for contract manufacturing, clinical development, formulation, and packaging services.
  • Develop and maintain durable customer partnerships over the long term.
  • Prepare and present business proposals covering the journey from development through commercial production, including opportunities to combine services strategically.
  • Track new market possibilities, customer needs, and industry trends to uncover additional business.
  • Represent the company at trade fairs, conferences, and seminars to raise awareness of broader capabilities and generate leads.
  • Collaborate on projects with Marketing and Research & Development, especially for market research and sales promotion initiatives.
  • Act as a proactive technical and customer-focused link between the client and Simtra Commercial to help deliver an excellent customer experience.

Requirements

  • A completed degree in chemistry, industrial engineering, or another comparable natural sciences discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role.
  • Background in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or healthcare, preferably with exposure to Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADC) or contract manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in process development or commercial manufacturing within sterile injectables is a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication and negotiation skills.
  • A high degree of initiative, self-management, and a practical, hands-on working style.
  • Fluent business English.
  • Ability to travel 30% to 50% of the time.
