Junior Estimator

Role Overview

An opportunity is available for a Junior M&E Estimator with an electrical focus to join a busy project team at a well-established building services organisation. The position is based in North Kent and sits within a central London project division, giving the successful candidate exposure to a broad range of mechanical and electrical work, with particular emphasis on electrical building services.

Compensation

The salary for this role is £30,000 to £35,000 per year, depending on experience, along with additional benefits.

Key Experience and Technical Knowledge

• At least 3–5 years of experience in the building services or M&E field is required.
• A solid understanding of electrical systems is important, together with working knowledge of mechanical services such as HVAC and plumbing.
• The role involves supporting or preparing M&E cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender submissions.
• You should be comfortable reviewing and interpreting drawings, specifications, and schedules related to M&E works.
• Strong commercial judgement, numerical ability, and close attention to detail are essential.

Preferred Background

• A qualification such as HNC, HND, or a degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a similar subject is preferred.
• Experience across commercial, residential, and public sector projects would be an advantage.
• Familiarity with common estimating software and procurement workflows is beneficial.
