Information Technology Manager

About the Role

This position is for a seasoned, commercially minded IT leader who can launch and grow a new IT Solutions Division from the ground up. The role combines technical leadership with business development, requiring the person to shape the division’s direction, create partnerships, spot market opportunities, and deliver complete technology and infrastructure solutions.

The focus is on building a profitable business unit that expands the client base, broadens the service portfolio, and creates long-term revenue growth for the organization. The right candidate will bring deep technical know-how along with strong commercial judgment to develop the IT business in Qatar.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and scale the IT Solutions Division, including its strategy, service lineup, and growth roadmap.
• Identify and pursue new opportunities across IT infrastructure, networking, servers and storage, cloud services, structured cabling, wireless systems, data centers, and enterprise technology solutions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate customers, government bodies, consultants, contractors, and technology partners.
• Form partnerships with major global vendors, distributors, and technology solution providers.
• Plan and deliver complete IT infrastructure solutions covering passive and active networking, structured cabling, servers, storage, virtualization, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.
• Lead solution architecture discussions, technical presentations, client meetings, and pre-sales efforts.
• Draft technical proposals, BOQs, tender submissions, quotations, and commercial offers.
• Oversee technology projects from initial design through implementation and final handover.
• Build pricing models, solution packages, and market entry plans.
• Recruit, guide, and manage a capable technical and commercial team.
• Grow revenue, improve profitability, and expand the IT Solutions business footprint.
• Track market movements, new technologies, and emerging business opportunities.
• Provide management with updates on business performance, strategic actions, and growth prospects.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or a similar discipline.
• 8 to 12 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems integration, networking, data centers, or enterprise technology solutions.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a managerial, leadership, or business-building capacity.
• Proven track record of starting up or scaling an IT solutions, systems integration, or technology services business.
• Strong working knowledge of passive networking, structured cabling, LAN/WAN, routing, switching, wireless technologies, servers, storage, virtualization, cloud platforms, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
• Practical experience in designing and delivering integrated infrastructure solutions.
• Exposure to vendors, distributors, solution partnerships, and channel management.
• Solid background in tendering, BOQ preparation, solution design, technical proposals, and project estimation.
• Ability to win business, attract new customers, and build strategic partnerships.
• Strong commercial sense, negotiation ability, business development skills, and stakeholder management capability.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Microsoft, VMware, ITIL, AWS, Azure, or equivalent are preferred.
• Experience working in Qatar or the GCC market is preferred.
• A valid Qatar driving license is mandatory.
