Role Overview
The Environmental Services Technician helps maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe healthcare setting by carrying out a range of housekeeping and disinfection duties. The role supports infection prevention standards and regulatory compliance while contributing to a welcoming environment that supports patient recovery and comfort.
Location
Mercy Hospital Southeast, 1701 Lacey Street, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701
Schedule
This is a full-time role with 40 hours per week on evening shifts.
Minimum Qualifications
No formal education is required, and no prior work experience is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Helpful background includes prior hospital environmental services work, experience following written and spoken instructions, experience with hands-on/manual tasks, and previous customer-facing work.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Requires extended periods of standing and walking during each shift.
- Must be able to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as part of the job.
