This is a permanent full-time grounds role based in Merriwa, WA at RAAFA’s Cambrai Village in the Northern Borders Region. The village includes more than 273 retirement living units and a nearby residential care facility, all set within landscaped gardens and a busy community environment. The work is Monday to Friday, with no weekend shifts, minimal overtime, and an early finish each day.

What the role involves

Keeping lawns, gardens, and shared outdoor areas well maintained
Using and caring for grounds equipment such as mowers, hedgers, and chainsaws
Removing weeds, pruning plants, mulching, fertilising, and supporting plant health
Assisting with landscaping improvements and routine site upkeep
Helping with basic reticulation and irrigation maintenance
Ensuring outdoor spaces remain tidy, safe, and pleasant for residents and visitors

What you need to bring

Proven experience in grounds or garden maintenance
A manual driver’s licence
Confidence using tools, maintenance equipment, and irrigation systems
A chainsaw ticket, or a willingness to obtain one
A dependable, physically capable, and safety-conscious approach
A courteous, positive manner when dealing with residents
Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
