Role Overview
Frank Darling is a female-led fine jewelry brand that reimagines custom engagement rings as something personal, modern, and enjoyable to shop for. The company is recognized for its contemporary aesthetic and sustainability-focused mindset, and has been covered by publications such as Vogue, WSJ, Bloomberg, and Glossy.
The team is hiring a Graphic Designer to join the marketing department. This position plays a central role in shaping the brand’s visual output across customer-facing communications, including highly targeted email campaigns as well as social, print, and broader brand work. The role calls for someone who can guide creative direction, raise the bar for design quality, mentor a junior designer, and collaborate closely with email, social, product, and brand partners to produce work that is both visually strong and commercially effective.
Creative Direction and Design Leadership
- Set and guide the creative direction for email, digital marketing, and brand communications, while maintaining a consistently high design standard across every channel.
- Develop visuals that stand out, support conversion goals, and deepen customer engagement and loyalty.
- Protect and evolve the Frank Darling visual identity so the brand remains cohesive, recognizable, and aligned with its core values.
- Bring forward fresh ideas and innovative approaches that keep the creative work current and culturally relevant.
- Support creative execution across the broader marketing mix, including web, paid media, social, and content-led initiatives.
Email Design and Systems
- Design and improve the email framework, including reusable templates and systems that speed up production while preserving quality.
- Create, review, and refine email campaigns with attention to hierarchy, usability, accessibility, responsiveness, and performance.
- Work with the email and SMS agency, along with internal stakeholders, to deliver customer-focused creative for weekly marketing emails and lifecycle flows.
Execution and Production
- Create visual assets for email, organic and paid social, digital advertising, and showroom print materials.
- Prepare files for print production and supply the necessary specifications, ensuring technical accuracy and vendor compliance.
- Adapt design concepts across formats and platforms while keeping the look and quality consistent.
Team and Process Leadership
- Mentor and support a junior designer with clear feedback and coaching that helps improve overall creative quality.
- Spot opportunities to improve design workflows and production processes so the team can move faster and iterate more efficiently.
- Partner with the Marketing Director on larger creative programs and team development efforts.
- Help ensure every customer interaction feels polished, thoughtful, and intentional.
Requirements
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong digital design, integrated campaign work, and email or marketing automation design.
- Deep knowledge of email design standards, responsive design, and lifecycle marketing communications.
- Proven ability to produce creative that connects brand storytelling with measurable business results.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Strong understanding of typography, layout, color, inclusive design, and design systems.
- Experience designing across multiple channels such as email, websites, apps, paid social, and owned social media.
- Professional experience in a brand, agency, or direct-to-consumer environment with work at meaningful scale.
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior team members is an added advantage.
- Experience in jewelry, fashion, beauty, or luxury is preferred, though not mandatory.
Job Details
This is a full-time, on-site position based in New York City at the Frank Darling showroom. The role is part of the Marketing team and reports to the Director of Marketing.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $95,000 per year.
