Facility Maintenance Technician

Role overview

PriceSmart is hiring a Facility Maintenance Technician in Kingston, Jamaica for a full-time, on-site role. The position focuses on keeping the club, warehouse, fixtures, and equipment in good working order, while supporting safety, cleanliness, and day-to-day operational needs.

Qualifications and experience

• You should have completed five CSEC subjects, with English Language and Mathematics included.
• A diploma or trade certificate in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Maintenance, Building Services Maintenance, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (HVAC), or Plumbing will be considered an advantage.
• A valid General Driver's License is required.
• Forklift certification is an added plus.
• You need working knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and forklifts.
• Strong customer service ability is important for this role.
• Experience of 2 to 5 years in facility maintenance, building maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a comparable technical position is highly desirable.
• Background maintaining commercial buildings, warehouses, manufacturing sites, or retail operations is especially valuable.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, and maintain fixtures, structures, and equipment within the club.
• Plan and carry out preventive maintenance for warehouse equipment and fixtures.
• Handle both minor and major repairs on faulty equipment and perform weekly fogging.
• Follow safety, security, and prevention procedures by making proper use of the security equipment provided.
• Support special club initiatives such as marketing setup, banner installation, and accessory fitting.
• Take care of facility and club maintenance and repair needs.
• Keep the warehouse floor area clean and orderly.
• Oversee STP operations.
• Remove trash during store operating hours and at closing time.
• Keep equipment, fixtures, spare parts, and tools secured.
