Role overview
The YMCA of Three Rivers is hiring a full-time, permanent Facility Cleaner for the Stork Family YMCA in Waterloo Region. This position supports a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for participants, visitors, and staff through consistent upkeep of assigned areas and strong service standards.
Work schedule
This role is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Key duties
- Deliver courteous customer service in line with YMCA standards.
- Keep assigned spaces clean on a regular and timely basis.
- Clean showers, washrooms, floors, and other hard surfaces.
- Refill supplies such as soap and paper products as needed.
- Monitor, replenish, and organize cleaning supplies.
- Wash, dry, and restock towels.
- Take on other assigned tasks as required.
- Attend required training sessions and staff meetings.
Skills and experience needed
The role calls for someone who pays close attention to detail, works efficiently, and takes pride in maintaining high cleanliness standards. It is physically demanding and requires flexibility, organization, and sustained energy. Candidates should have at least one year of experience in a similar setting, be comfortable using a variety of cleaning tools and equipment, follow direction well, and work both independently and as part of a team.
Compensation and rewards
The starting hourly wage is $17.60.

Time away from work
- 3 weeks of vacation at the start, with the opportunity to earn additional vacation over time.

Pension plan
Full-time employees may join the group pension plan after two consecutive years of employment. The employee contributes 5% of gross pay each payroll, matched by the organization. After three consecutive years of full-time service, pension participation becomes mandatory.
