Environmental Officer

Role Overview

CANDIDZONE is hiring a proactive Environmental Officer to support project work in Doha, Qatar. This position calls for someone with hands-on exposure to Ashghal projects and a solid command of environmental compliance, site oversight, and reporting.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience working on Ashghal projects.
• A minimum of 3 years in environmental management and/or site supervision roles.
• Practical experience handling Construction Environmental and Social Management Plans (CESMP).
• Background in environmental reporting, site inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
• A degree, diploma, or certification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or a similar discipline is preferred.
• Good working knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and execution requirements on site.
• Ability to spot environmental risks and apply suitable mitigation measures.
• Strong communication, documentation, and coordination abilities.
• Valid Qatar ID (QID) is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Track environmental compliance against regulations, project specifications, and client expectations.
• Oversee the implementation of CESMP requirements across project locations.
• Carry out routine inspections, audits, and monitoring of environmental performance.
• Draft environmental reports, maintain records, and complete compliance documentation.
• Liaise with project teams, consultants, and other stakeholders on environmental issues.
• Assess environmental risks and propose corrective and preventive measures.
• Assist with environmental awareness activities and training for site staff.
• Make sure environmental incidents, observations, and non-conformities are reported and resolved without delay.

Candidates with the required Ashghal project background, relevant environmental experience, and a valid Qatar ID can apply.

Education

Preferred qualifications include a degree, diploma, or certification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or an allied field.
