Role overview

This position supports the food and beverage operation by keeping china, glassware, cookware, and utensils clean and ready for service. The role is based at Harlow's Casino Resort & Spa in Greenville, Mississippi.

What you’ll do

• Follow management directions for scraping, sorting, stacking, racking, and washing dishware, glassware, and kitchen tools.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and sanitary work area at all times.
• Use the correct cleaning chemicals for dishware, utensils, and surrounding work surfaces.
• Work in line with health, safety, and sanitation expectations.
• Clean trash cans, sweep and mop floors, tidy the loading dock, wash buffet glass, and support salad bar stocking.
• Move supplies from storage rooms, coolers, and freezers to food preparation areas as needed.
• Take on any additional duties assigned by management.

Skills and abilities

The role calls for the ability to read, interpret, and analyze basic written material, along with an understanding of customer service principles and procedures. Success in the job requires the capacity to carry out all core duties reliably.

Education and experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. No prior experience is necessary, as training will be provided.

Working conditions

This is an office/casino environment. The position may involve exposure to casino-related conditions such as secondhand smoke, high noise levels, and stressful surroundings. Work can require constant wrist motion, as well as sitting, hearing, and eye/hand coordination. The job also regularly involves speaking, reading, writing, standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and moving around the property and office for long periods. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling may be needed, and the role requires the ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
