Role Overview
Eventellect is hiring a Director, Partner Strategy focused on its NBA portfolio of 20 clubs, with indirect oversight of WNBA strategy through a direct report. In this role, you will convert the partner growth strategy into day-to-day action, own event-level financial performance and reporting, and serve as a dependable strategic advisor to club partners. You will lead one direct report and collaborate closely with execution and operations teams to increase total net ticketing revenue. The objective is straightforward: help clubs perform better while driving value for Eventellect.
What You'll Do
Turn NBA strategy into execution
- Translate the broader partner growth direction into club-specific plans and daily execution.
- Run the revenue management work that supports results, including dynamic pricing, manifest resizing, season-ticket-holder pricing, product mix decisions, and inventory/utilization strategy.
- Stay ahead of second- and third-order effects from pricing, inventory, and positioning choices.
- Make practical decisions even when information is incomplete and conditions are uncertain.
Own performance and P&L
- Manage event-level P&L, KPI monitoring, and reporting for the NBA portfolio.
- Support strong financial outcomes for both club partners and Eventellect.
- Convert performance into early renewals and account expansion.
Build strong club relationships
- Act as a trusted advisor to sales, operations, and strategy leaders at each club.
- Bring senior relationships when possible, or build them quickly, and turn them into support and advocacy.
- Present recommendations and consulting analyses to senior and executive audiences in a way that makes complex data easy to act on.
- Identify common missteps clubs make and help them correct course early in a collaborative, constructive way.
Develop and lead the team
- Coach and grow your direct report, who owns WNBA strategy, so the work can scale beyond your personal output.
- Work closely with execution and operations teams that support day-to-day service for clubs.
- Prioritize shared results over individual recognition and recognize the people who contribute to them.
Use the company’s tools effectively
- Apply Eventellect’s technology and automation to deliver service efficiently at scale.
- Continuously look for simpler, smarter ways of working and eliminate unnecessary complexity.
Core Values
- Own it: take full responsibility for relationships, P&L, and outcomes. Follow through, solve problems early, and leave nothing unfinished.
- Team first: focus on collective success, develop your direct report, rely on execution and operations, and strengthen trust across the team.
- Simplify and innovate: reduce complexity, keep processes clear, automate where possible, and create room for better solutions.
- Do what lasts: act with integrity and keep the customer at the center. Make choices that create lasting value for partners, employees, and the company.
What Success Looks Like
- Strong NPS across NBA club accounts.
- Earlier renewals and stronger advocacy from existing clients.
- Account expansion and healthy financial results for both clubs and Eventellect.
- Better outcomes for clubs driven by strategy, tools, and service.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Substantial team-side ticketing experience, ideally in the NBA, across sales, operations, or strategy; alternatively, exceptional analytical and commercial ability from outside sports with the motivation to enter the industry.
- A strong reputation for being trustworthy and easy to work with.
- A growth mindset, with openness to learning, improvement, and change.
- Strong analytical fluency and the ability to understand underlying drivers and translate them into business action.
- Demonstrated ability to define direction, align stakeholders, and develop others.
Additional Information
- This role is remote-friendly, and qualified candidates from anywhere are encouraged to apply.
- Being based in Houston, or being willing to relocate there, is considered an advantage but is not required.
- Expected travel is approximately 10% to 20% for club visits, league events, and trips to the Houston office.
Benefits
- Competitive base pay with a performance-based bonus.
- Full benefits coverage.
- Paid time off.
- 401(k) matching.
Note to Candidates
The company is looking for someone who may not be actively job hunting but has deep experience and curiosity. That may mean years spent in pro sports ticketing and a strong understanding of how seasons are actually sold, or a strong analytical and commercial background from another industry with a desire to move into sports. The ideal person is trusted by others, enjoys working collaboratively, and is eager to use new tools, new thinking, and improved processes. The role offers the chance to help 20 NBA teams succeed with support from technology, data, and a team that treats partner businesses as its own. The company values speed, simplicity, and durable results.
Work Style and Culture
The team moves quickly, keeps processes simple, and focuses on long-term impact rather than short-term shortcuts. Success in this role means using experience to create practical value for partner clubs while building a lasting, collaborative operating model.
