Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site Database Administrator position in Bhopal. The selected professional will be responsible for setting up, configuring, and maintaining databases that power government and banking applications.

Key Responsibilities

The role includes ongoing database monitoring, backup and recovery management, patching and version upgrades, and ensuring strong availability and data accuracy. The Database Administrator will also create and refine database structures, manage access permissions and security controls, put replication and other fault-tolerance measures in place, and resolve database-related incidents. In addition, the role involves working closely with development and infrastructure teams, assisting with deployment tasks, and maintaining documentation for database settings, standards, and operating procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have solid hands-on experience in database administration and running production databases. Strong capability in database design, including schema planning, indexing approaches, and performance improvement, is important. Candidates must also be able to diagnose issues, tune performance, and carry out root-cause analysis. Familiarity with replication, backup, and recovery methods is required, along with exposure to major RDBMS platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL and their associated tooling. A good understanding of database security, access management, and compliance practices is expected. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, is needed. The role also calls for the ability to work on-site in Bhopal, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and handle multiple priorities effectively. Experience in government, banking, or FinTech environments, especially with high-volume transaction systems, will be considered an advantage.
