Limebit GmbH is a data science and machine learning agency focused on the life sciences sector. The company works with health insurers, hospitals, research institutes, and pharmaceutical businesses to build data-driven solutions for medical use cases and contribute to improvements in healthcare.

The team is expanding and is looking for someone who can support data science and machine learning work while fitting well into the team culture on both a professional and personal level.

The development team brings together specialists in data science, machine learning, mathematics, and software engineering. You will work closely with data scientists and machine learning engineers and be involved in exciting projects from the very beginning.

To ensure the skill sets complement each other and that you can quickly take on responsibility, the role calls for a relevant academic background and initial hands-on experience, for example through projects, working student roles, or early professional experience. Together, an individual career plan will be created so you can strengthen your technical capabilities and work toward longer-term goals.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients in the life sciences sector and help shape data science and machine learning projects from concept through delivery.
• Plan and manage projects related to data science and machine learning solutions for customers.
• Build software using common machine learning and statistics libraries such as scikit-learn, SciPy, NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, and TensorFlow, along with tools like Git, GitFlow, GitHub, GitLab, and Jira.
• Conduct literature research and turn findings into working prototypes.
• Support teaching activities in data science and programming when needed.

Requirements

• A completed degree in a relevant field such as data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, bioinformatics, or a comparable area; equivalent practical experience is also acceptable.
• Strong Python programming skills and practical experience with widely used data science and machine learning libraries including NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
• Good understanding of statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and where they are applied.
• Experience working in modern software development processes, including version control and collaborative development workflows such as Git and GitHub/GitLab.
• Familiarity with agile methods such as Scrum and structured development approaches such as GitFlow.
• Very strong German language skills, at least C1 level in both speaking and writing, are required because customers come from the German healthcare and public sectors.
• Good English skills are also important for professional exchange and working with international literature.
• Experience in the healthcare sector is desirable.
• Applicants should bring a suitable academic background or comparable hands-on experience, plus initial practical exposure through projects, student work, or early employment.
• The role expects the ability to work independently, take responsibility, and contribute constructively to a close-knit team environment.
