Role overview
We are recruiting for a Haystack partner for a Cyber Security Specialist position in Germany. The role sits within a Cyber Security & Reaction Service Team and focuses on advising clients, managing incidents, and strengthening security operations and response capabilities.
What you will do
- Guide national and international clients through IT security and compliance incidents.
- Take ownership of security incidents and DFIR cases, including detailed analysis, attack reconstruction, and defining containment and hardening actions.
- Create and assess detection and response approaches across SIEM, EDR/XDR, and SOAR environments.
- Run security, compromise, and incident-readiness assessments to identify and eliminate security gaps.
- Carry out penetration testing and adversary simulation work such as Red Teaming, Purple Teaming, and threat emulation aligned to MITRE ATT&CK.
- Serve as a technical advisor and project lead, collaborating with SOC, IT, and management stakeholders.
- Contribute to service development and expert reporting.
What is required
- A university degree in a MINT discipline with a specialization in IT security or digital forensics, or an equivalent profile with several years of hands-on experience.
- Strong knowledge of network technologies and operating systems.
- Several years of practical experience in Digital Forensics & Incident Response and related areas such as threat hunting, SIEM, SOC/CSIRT, EDR/XDR, and Red/Purple Teaming.
- Good understanding of offensive and defensive frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK or the Kill Chain.
- Recognized technical certification in DFIR, for example BSI incident expert certification, plus credentials such as GCFE, GNFA, GCIH, or similar.
- Ability to work independently in a structured, accountable way with strong analytical thinking and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Very strong written and spoken English skills.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally for client assignments and DFIR work.
