Role overview

Cardinal Glass Industries is hiring a Custodian to support housekeeping and general facility utility work at the Vinton, VA site. The position is scheduled for 2nd shift, Monday through Friday from 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm, with every other Saturday as needed. Some schedule flexibility may be available when required.

What you will do

The role focuses on keeping the plant clean, organized, and safe through routine janitorial and housekeeping work, along with other utility-related tasks across the facility.

• Clean restrooms, cafeteria areas, entryways, office spaces, and other shared parts of the facility
• Sweep, dust, vacuum, and collect trash throughout the plant
• Use floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment as needed
• Handle general housekeeping assignments across production and common areas
• Carry out occasional support tasks such as painting, pressure washing, and helping clear snow and ice from exterior walkways
• Clean floors, walls, ceilings, bathrooms, break rooms, and other difficult-to-reach areas
• Use ladders safely when elevated cleaning is required
• Keep waste disposal areas maintained and sanitize common spaces
• Follow safety procedures and promptly report any hazards or unsafe conditions

Requirements

Experience in janitorial or housekeeping work is preferred. The job also requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, and remaining on your feet or moving around for more than 8 hours at a time.
