About the role
Winthrop Technologies is a specialist partner for data centre delivery across Europe, providing complete turnkey support from initial design through construction and final commissioning. With its headquarters in Dublin, the company delivers projects throughout Europe and is recognized for its strong reputation in the sector. The business is now looking for a CSA Estimator to join its growing team in the head office at Ballymount, Dublin 22, reporting to the Estimating Director. The role offers the chance to contribute to advanced data centre projects and support the company’s ongoing growth.
What you will do
- Take ownership of sizable tenders and manage them through extended delivery timelines.
- Prepare cost estimates from drawings and technical specifications.
- Measure quantities and build pricing documentation.
- Source pricing information for building elements from subcontractors and suppliers in Ireland and across Europe.
- Use spreadsheets to evaluate subcontractor quotations and bids, and record the basis for subcontractor selection.
- Support the upkeep of the cost database.
- Present estimates to the Estimating Director and, when needed, to the Board of Directors.
- Develop strong working relationships with key vendors, including subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers.
- Stay current with changes and developments in the construction industry.
- Contribute to procedure development that supports strong quality control across estimating documents.
- Work in line with quality assurance processes.
- Take part in personal development planning and performance review activities as required.
- Carry out additional duties relevant to the role as assigned by Winthrop Management.
- Protect the confidentiality of all information received during employment, especially information from other parties.
- Maintain a high standard in the preparation of subcontractor tender documents and the company’s tender submissions.
- Operate in keeping with the company’s safety standards.
- Identify and flag possible project risks.
What we are looking for
Applicants should bring at least four years of relevant estimating experience, along with either a background in Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) engineering or practical trade experience gained previously. Strong numerical and analytical ability is important, as is a careful eye for detail. The role also calls for someone who can work well with others in a busy and fast-moving environment. Familiarity with FIDIC contracts is required, and candidates should be comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel, or commonly used QS BQ production tools such as Buildsoft or CostX.
Benefits
- Opportunity to work with a market-leading business in the data centre sector.
- Support for career development.
- Competitive salary package.
- Collaborative team culture.
- Strong project pipeline and growth prospects.
