Role Overview
The company is looking for a seasoned, performance-focused Cost Control Chief to take charge of cost management activities for a road project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and run end-to-end cost control frameworks for road and bridge works, keeping expenditure accurately tracked and budgets under tight control to support project profitability.
- Review project costs in detail, compile financial performance reports, highlight budget gaps, and suggest corrective measures to project leadership.
- Work closely with project managers and engineers to build realistic project budgets that match scope, goals, and execution plans.
- Track spend throughout the project lifecycle and provide management with timely updates on financial position, emerging risks, and budget pressures.
- Drive forecasting activities by using past project data and current market movements to estimate future costs and fine-tune budgets.
- Assess subcontractor quotations and proposals to confirm pricing is reasonable, compliant with specifications, and suitable for decision-making.
- Manage change order workflows so that scope variations and their cost impacts are properly recorded, reviewed, and approved.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized or accredited university is required.
- At least 15 years of experience in infrastructure delivery, especially bridges, underpasses, overpasses, roads, and highways.
- A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in a Cost Control Chief role on major infrastructure projects.
- Strong written and spoken English is essential; Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office applications is necessary.
