Role overview
Zaxbys is looking for a full-time cook to help deliver a positive guest experience by preparing quality food quickly and consistently. This role supports the kitchen and restaurant operations by handling inventory, cooking and assembling menu items, and keeping food safety and cleanliness standards high.
Compensation
Pay is set between $13.00 and $14.50 per hour.
What the job involves
The cook is expected to contribute to fast, friendly service while keeping the back-of-house running smoothly. The position includes food preparation, equipment use, stock handling, and maintaining an organized work area.
Training and development
- Finish all required onboarding and role training.
- Complete the Back of House development plan for Zaxbys.
- Participate in hands-on station training.
- Take part in any additional training assigned by the company.
Work duties
- Deliver courteous and upbeat service to every guest.
- Stay updated on current promotions and offers.
- Represent the Zaxbys brand in a positive way.
- Support front-of-house needs and guest service as needed.
- Prepare menu items according to company standards and safe food-handling practices.
- Handle food and beverages in line with safety rules and guidelines.
- Use kitchen and cooking equipment safely.
- Keep product levels stocked in assigned areas so service can continue without delay.
- Cook and assemble food items to company specifications.
- Package guest orders accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly workspace.
- Care for equipment and report repair or maintenance needs.
- Help manage inventory and storage areas.
- Receive deliveries and put incoming stock away.
- Store food properly following food safety requirements.
- Notify management when supplies need replenishing.
- Clean and arrange storage spaces.
- Complete tasks quickly and with a strong sense of urgency.
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines.
- Perform other assigned duties when needed.

Eligibility
This role is open to candidates who are at least 16 years old and available to work 32 to 40 hours per week.
Physical and environmental demands
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk continuously.
- Occasional stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing, including ladder use.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
- Continuous use of hands and wrists for grasping and precise movements.
- Strong verbal, reading, and writing communication skills.
- Good visual and auditory awareness to observe surroundings and respond appropriately.
- Comfort working in areas with hot and cold temperature changes and food allergen exposure.
