About the role
This position sits at the center of warehouse and dispatch activities. The main objective is to verify, count, receive and release stock accurately while making sure documentation, inventory records, and payment-related processes are handled correctly. The role also supports safety, inventory control, and compliance routines across operations.
What you will do
- Carry out physical checks of stock being loaded and unloaded, and confirm quantities against records.
- Prepare, verify, reconcile, and process both digital and manual invoices.
- Handle point-of-sale payment activities and support related controls.
- Follow stock master procedures and assist with inventory management and control activities.
- Support vehicle loading and unloading by checking documentation, confirming load plans, and recording returns before unloading.
- Complete internal stock movement entries such as transfers, breakages, and issues in the ERP system.
- Participate in investigations of stock differences and suggest practical corrective actions.
- Maintain required reports and trackers, including beer age, FIFO/FEFO compliance, digital journey usage, full pallet checks, refusals, and POS report accuracy.
Health, safety, and site standards
- Keep 5S and site housekeeping standards in place at all times.
- Use personal protective equipment as required by site safety rules.
- Comply with environmental and safety requirements.
- Escalate and respond to any non-conformities through the appropriate reporting channels.
Stock quality and inventory control
- Apply stock rotation rules, including FEFO, to maintain stock age standards.
- Check packaging quality on the warehouse floor and before loading.
- Perform daily stock counts using a handheld device.
- Identify variances, generate discrepancy reports, and work to resolve differences.
- Communicate clearly with inventory, warehouse, logistics, commercial, and credit stakeholders.
Requirements and competencies
The role calls for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-moving operational environment, can handle pressure, and pays close attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Strong communication, teamwork, self-management, and adaptability are important. Comfort with computers and digital stock-count devices is an advantage.
Minimum requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
- A valid forklift driver licence.
- Experience operating a double handler.
