What you will do
- Carry out everyday housing management support such as room checks, waste-related tasks, and preparing rooms for inspections.
- Inspect communal fittings, shared equipment, and fixtures regularly so they remain in good working condition.
- Work with contractors and internal colleagues to make sure repairs are completed promptly and efficiently.
- Log repair issues, follow up on outstanding work, and report faults that sit with contractors to resolve.
- Handle small maintenance jobs such as changing light bulbs, touch-up decorating, filling and patching plaster, basic gardening, and litter picking.
- Clean and prepare rooms quickly and to a strong standard so void properties are turned around within agreed timescales.

- Order cleaning supplies and equipment, while keeping accurate records of purchases and deliveries.
- Attend weekly void meetings, track progress, and arrange replacement items when rooms are taken out of service for repairs.
- Prepare inventories at move-in and complete periodic property checks with Wirral Council.
- Produce Electrical Visual Inspection Reports when required.
- Follow Riverside’s equality, diversity, and safeguarding policies in all service delivery and employment-related activity.
- Take on any other relevant duties requested by the line manager.
What we are looking for
Riverside is looking for someone who can bring practical maintenance experience, a careful eye for faults, and confidence in dealing with contractors and day-to-day property upkeep. The organisation welcomes applicants who are motivated by potential and values, even if they do not meet every essential criterion.
Additional information
Applicants should include an up-to-date CV and a covering letter. Candidates may apply with any valid legal permission to work in the UK; however, no further sponsorship can be provided because Riverside will be surrendering its sponsorship licence. The role may involve access to sensitive information, so confidentiality must be maintained at all times. A commitment to equal opportunities and non-discriminatory working practices is also expected. Applications may close before the stated deadline, so early submission is recommended.
