CAD Design Intern

About the internship

This in-office internship is centered on CAD-based product development for scientific instruments. The role involves supporting the design, assembly, prototyping, and quality control of hardware used in advanced material research. You will work on detailed drafting, technical documentation, and hands-on collaboration with the engineering and project teams.

Role overview

The organisation develops indigenous scientific laboratory instruments along with supporting hardware and software to evaluate material properties such as airflow resistance, porosity, pore size, and water vapour transmission. These tools serve a wide range of applications, including air filtration, water purification, sound absorption, data collection, membrane technology, chemical manufacturing, biomechanical engineering, oil and gas, and medical or technical textiles.

Key work areas

The internship covers practical involvement in instrument design, prototype development, product assembly, and quality checks. You will prepare 2D and 3D models, create technical drawings, maintain BOMs and ECN revision records, and support simulations and material selection for early-stage builds. The role also requires coordination with fabricators to help translate designs into working prototypes.

Who can apply

This opportunity is open to candidates who can work full time from the office, begin between 25 June 2026 and 30 July 2026, commit to a 6-month internship, and are based in Vadodara. Applicants should have relevant skills and interest, and Mechanical Engineering students are eligible. Freshers seeking jobs may also apply.

Stipend and joining details

The stipend is INR 10,000 to 15,000 per month. The internship starts immediately and has a duration of 6 months.

Other requirements

• Strong working knowledge of CAD tools, especially SolidWorks.
• Good grasp of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Understanding of design fundamentals and manufacturing workflows.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Job offer details

On successful conversion to a permanent role, the expected salary range is ₹2,50,000 to ₹3,00,000 per year.
