Role overview
As a Business Consultant, you will be central to managing and delivering complex software implementations for clients. The role combines hands-on IT consulting, strong stakeholder coordination, and a practical delivery mindset. You will work alongside customers, internal project teams, and developers to help ensure smooth go-lives, strong user adoption, and clear business outcomes.
In addition to client delivery, you will help build and mature the company’s consulting practice. The organization already has strong domain specialists, and this position is intended to strengthen internal and external consulting methods, improve delivery standards, and elevate the quality of client interaction.
This position requires prior IT consulting experience and professional-level German language ability.
The company is also taking an AI-first approach, actively testing and applying AI to improve delivery quality, consultant productivity, and the overall client experience. Consultants are expected to contribute to shaping how AI becomes part of the consulting workflow.
What you will do
- Drive and support end-to-end rollouts of enterprise software across several business units at client organizations.
- Serve as the main consulting contact and reliable advisor for clients during implementation as well as after go-live.
- Work with clients to define the implementation scope, covering affected business units, workflows, integrations, and key milestones.
- Convert business needs into precise IT and functional specifications.
- Plan and run workshops, meetings, and conference calls with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Partner closely with developers and internal teams to keep delivery on schedule, within scope, and aligned to budget.
- Assist with configuration-related activities, including user administration and migration of historical and master data.
- Lead train-the-trainer sessions so clients can operate independently and adopt the solution effectively over time.
- Spot risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay engaged after go-live to address client needs, solve issues proactively, and improve return on investment.
- Represent client interests internally while balancing customer satisfaction with commercial goals.
Requirements
- Background in IT consulting or a closely related consulting field such as technology consulting, digital transformation, or ERP implementation.
- 3–5+ years of relevant professional experience in IT consulting, internal IT, software implementation, business analysis, or a similar area, with clear exposure to client-facing, project-based work.
- Professional fluency in both German and English, spoken and written.
- Hands-on experience contributing to or leading enterprise software or ERP implementation projects.
- Ability to turn business requirements into IT and functional requirements.
- Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Information Systems, Business Informatics, or a closely related discipline.
- Capacity to work independently while knowing when to escalate or involve the right stakeholders.
- Structured, analytical, and solution-focused approach to problem solving.
- Willingness to travel around every other week for a few days at a time, including visits to client sites across Europe and the Rotterdam office.
- Strong understanding of information security and comfort working within established security frameworks.
Nice to have
- Exposure to management consulting or strategy consulting with a strong technology component.
- Project management or PMO certifications.
- Experience in rail, logistics, or transportation.
- Knowledge of implementation approaches and system integration.
- Background in a scale-up or fast-growing environment.
What is offered
- Competitive pay aligned with market standards.
- A high-responsibility consulting role with strong visibility and impact.
- Opportunity to work with large, international clients and complex implementation programs.
- A steep learning curve and room for professional growth in a fast-scaling organization.
- Close collaboration with experienced consultants, engineers, and product teams.
Working style
This is an intensive delivery role with regular travel and periods of work beyond standard office hours. It is not a typical 9-to-5 position and is best suited to people who enjoy fast-moving consulting environments and are comfortable owning outcomes end to end.
