Barista

Role overview

This full-time Barista position is with Lodestone House in Sherborne, England, United Kingdom, supporting Chartwells. The role is contracted for 35 hours each week and follows rotating shifts. Please note that the contract runs for 48 weeks per year.

What you will do

• Prepare well-made beverages and serve food to a consistently high standard for customers.
• Keep the coffee and service area tidy and well presented.
• Handle customer payments, including cash and card transactions.
• Work positively with colleagues and communicate clearly.
• Maintain an adequate supply of clean cups, mugs, and plates.
• Build knowledge of brewing techniques, beverage combinations, food preparation, and presentation.
• Check that brewing equipment is functioning correctly and flag any maintenance issues.
• Represent Chartwells professionally and help protect a positive brand reputation.
• Follow food hygiene and handling requirements at all times.
• Observe health and safety rules and workplace procedures.

You should be able to take initiative, make sensible decisions for customers, and work comfortably with brewing equipment.
