Key Responsibilities

You will lead and support automation-related work across new and existing products, with involvement in project delivery, customer interaction, technical documentation, and manufacturing improvement.

  • Manage new product development and introduction projects when needed.
  • Develop automation systems for both new and established products.
  • Engage with customers and prospects to present the site's automation capabilities and manufacturing improvements.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and production line simulations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Corporate Design team on Fermoy product options.
  • Support customer visits and contribute directly to customer focus teams.
  • Help ensure smooth launch of new products in a high-volume production setting.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles in practical ways.
  • Track emerging technologies and introduce relevant automation advances to the Fermoy site.
  • Lead automation projects from URS development and partner sourcing through build stages to full production release.
  • Coordinate with other sites to share automation initiatives and best practices.
  • Work with different departments on improvement activities and new business support.
  • Assist with engineering builds.
  • Provide design-for-manufacturing input for new product developments.
  • Support troubleshooting and issue resolution on active production lines when required.
  • Maintain compliance with quality systems, industry regulations, health and safety laws, and site procedures.

  • Strong knowledge of equipment and practical troubleshooting/debugging capability.
  • Hands-on experience with design for manufacturing.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or comparable Lean expertise.
  • A project management qualification would be an advantage.
