Assistant Buyer

Position Summary

The Assistant Buyer role supports the buying team with daily operational work and helps build a working understanding of the broader buying process. This includes learning how buying connects with production, planning, and distribution, while taking part in team meetings and becoming familiar with the tools, language, and responsibilities used in the function.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will help gather and organize data that supports seasonal direction and financial goals. You will join pre-season discussions with Buying and Planning, prepare assortment sheets, keep them updated as changes arise, and share revisions with the right business partners. You will also contribute in line edit meetings, review sales results to spot trends, and take part in conversations about future product adjustments, sales forecasts, and Open to Buy planning to build financial awareness.

The position also involves learning about the customer base through store visits, assessing how products are performing in the field, and collecting insights from customers and store associates to relay to leadership. In addition, you will participate in weekly cross-functional meetings and work closely with Buying, Planning, I/C, and Distribution teams to support shared goals and clear communication.

Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree is required. The role is intended for candidates with 0 to 2 years of experience.

About the Department

The Buying team focuses on assortment curation, purchasing, pricing, and inventory control to help improve profitability. Team members work closely with leaders across the business and need to combine analytical thinking with creativity, along with a strong interest in fashion and product trends.

This position is based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, at the corporate world headquarters in Los Angeles, California.

Compensation and Benefits

The stated base salary is $70,304 per year. Actual pay may vary based on market conditions, internal equity, the candidate’s background, and experience.
