Role Overview
Wilshire is growing its portfolio management function, with a focus on customized multi-asset and multi-alternative strategy portfolios. In this role, you will support senior portfolio managers with technical and analytical work that helps drive portfolio construction, analysis, reporting, and manager due diligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Help build investment allocation models using mutual funds, ETFs, and other SEC-registered vehicles, including both traditional and alternative options.
- Prepare and refine recurring as well as ad hoc analysis covering risk and performance attribution for mutual funds and institutional separate account strategies, using both proprietary and external analytics tools.
- Create monthly and quarterly reports at the fund and portfolio level, such as performance summaries, risk metrics, style exposure analysis, and attribution results.
- Arrange and join due diligence discussions and conference calls with investment managers, and record meeting notes.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant holds a BA/BS in finance, economics, or a related discipline with strong academic performance. The role is suited to someone with 0 to 1 year of experience in financial, accounting, or investment settings, a strong eye for accuracy, and a genuine interest in portfolio management and becoming a CFA charter holder. You should be comfortable working collaboratively, communicating clearly in writing and speech, and using Microsoft Excel effectively. The company also values candidates who are interested in using approved AI-enabled tools to improve research, reporting, and analysis while following firm policies and exercising sound judgment.

This is a hybrid position based out of the Santa Monica office.

The base salary range for this position is $70,350 to $78,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as location, qualifications, skills, and experience. The total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus plus health and financial benefits offered with employment.
Wilshire is an SEC-registered investment adviser and may be required to collect information about prior political contributions under Rule 206(4)-5.
