What the role involves

As an Airside team member, you will represent dnata catering on the tarmac and handle the delivery of catering equipment and meals to aircraft. Your work will include moving fully stocked aircraft trolleys onto hi-lift trucks, driving a short distance to the aircraft, positioning vehicles safely, and supporting the loading process with airline cabin crew. You will also return empty carts and complete tasks back at the catering facility.

Main duties

• Drive short distances and carry out routine vehicle checks, including refuelling.
• Load and unload trucks and aircraft with catering items, carts, and ovens, while identifying and following up on any shortages or mismatches.
• Position trucks safely in line with company, airport, and airline requirements.
• Work with airline cabin crew to complete aircraft servicing and handover of deliveries.
• Coordinate with dispatch on aircraft timing and delivery allocations.
• Complete administrative paperwork, reporting, and general cleaning tasks as needed.

What you need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you need to be comfortable working in a fast-moving airport setting and managing manual tasks safely. Strong communication, a tidy presentation, and the ability to work around flight timings are all essential.

Additional requirements and conditions

• A clean MR or HR driver’s licence is required.
• You must be able to complete frequent manual handling duties.
• A safety-first mindset is essential, along with correct technique and awareness at all times.
• Flexibility to work around flight schedules is necessary.
• Good spoken and written communication skills are needed.
• You should present neatly and professionally.
• A clear National Police Check is required because this role operates in the aviation services sector.
• Availability for 38 hours per week is required, as this is a full-time permanent position.
