About the Role
CoinMarketCap is developing AI-powered products that help people find crypto information, make sense of it, and take action more effectively. The company is looking for an AI Operations Specialist to join the AI team as an individual contributor within the Product organization.
This role is highly hands-on and focused on the operational work that keeps the AI team moving. Typical work may include running evaluations, coordinating outreach and follow-ups, creating lightweight tools and automations, and stepping in wherever the team needs the most leverage in a given week. You will work closely with the AI team to execute on the highest-priority needs, and you are expected to rely heavily on AI tools to move faster than a single operator normally could.
The core of the role is practical, execution-focused support, and the day-to-day work may change from week to week depending on what the team needs most.
What You'll Do
- Assess AI features by scoring outputs with the help of AI tools, identifying regressions, assembling golden sets, and turning the findings into clear, actionable summaries for the team.
- Create small-scale tools and automations using AI coding tools, such as scripts, internal utilities, and quick prototypes that the team needs in short order.
- Drive prompt and workflow improvements by applying changes, testing alternatives, and delivering the next iteration.
- Handle external outreach and relationship management from start to finish, including contacting KOLs, running calls, and following through on next steps.
- Partner with internal teams, such as marketing and other product groups, to help the AI team achieve its goals.
- Take ownership of whatever creates the most leverage for the AI team in a given week, even if it is outside the usual scope of the role.
What We're Looking For
- A strong bias toward action, with the ability to recognize what needs attention, prioritize effectively, and move quickly without waiting for instructions.
- Comfort with less glamorous work, and a mindset that no task is too small if it helps the team make progress.
- Highly independent execution skills, with the ability to turn an undefined problem into a working solution with minimal oversight.
- Practical fluency with AI tools, especially LLM-based systems, for writing, automation, prototyping, and day-to-day operations.
- Experience in a startup or fast-moving environment, ideally 1 to 3 years in generalist or operations roles where you have owned outcomes end to end rather than just completed assigned tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas in a simple, clear way.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to software development and product management.
- Experience working in 0-to-1 environments.
- Hands-on involvement in prompt engineering, evaluation work, or other AI-related operations.
- Interest in, or experience with, cryptocurrency.
