Role overview

Our hiring partner is a major financial services organization with a broad North American footprint and business lines spanning institutional and corporate banking, wealth management, private client services, commercial banking, treasury, and retail banking. The team is looking for an experienced Accountant V to support an existing vacancy on a contract basis.

Assignment details

This engagement is planned for 6 months, with the possibility of being extended or converted into a permanent opportunity. The pay starts at $38 per hour. The position is based in Toronto, Ontario, and follows a hybrid work arrangement. Working hours are Monday to Friday during core business hours.

Key responsibilities

The role focuses on reviewing and interpreting balance sheets, supporting the product control function, and collaborating with regional finance teams.

Experience and qualifications

A university degree is required. Candidates should bring at least 5 years of accounting experience, along with strong knowledge of balance sheets. Experience in banking is important, as is a solid understanding of regional profit and loss reporting and tax. The ideal candidate will also have strong analytical ability, familiarity with capital markets product knowledge, and hands-on experience using macros and Python scripts.
